Enga Hospital Vehicle Involved in Accident at Paiya Kona

Paiya Kona, Western Highlands Province – April 12, 2025:


A vehicle belonging to the Enga Provincial Health Authority was involved in a traffic accident this afternoon at Paiya Kona, Western Highlands Province. The accident occurred when the hospital vehicle collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser owned by a local businessman.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, there were no casualties reported. However, all individuals involved in the crash were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.


Authorities are yet to release an official statement, but investigations into the cause of the accident are expected to begin shortly.

Gembogl Health Centre Upgraded to Level 4 Hospital in Milestone Visit

 GEMBOGL, Simbu Province – In a significant step for rural healthcare, the Simbu Provincial Health Authority (SiPHA) escorted the Hon. Minister for Health, Elias Kavavore MP, on a site visit to the Gembogl Rural Health Centre. The visit marked the official sanctioning and declaration of the centre’s upgrade from a Level 3 to a Level 4 facility, paving the way for the development of the Gembogl Tourism Hospital. The upgrade was made possible through the tireless efforts of the Mitnande LLG Development Association, a collaborative group consisting of leaders from Kuglkane, Mauglak, and Inaugl communities.
